Eligibility:
-The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in materials science, applied mechanics, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
-We expect that you have experience in microstructural characterisation using SEM and TEM and that you have experience with damage mechanics and are good in both written and oral English.
-Experience with FEM modelling will be advantageous

Scholarship Open for International Students: No

Scholarship Description: The position is part of a research project funded by the Danish Council for Strategic Research aiming at increasing the fundamental knowledge of steel used in gears and bearings in wind turbines. The position involves the following tasks: Microstructural characterisation of different types of steel including identification of carbides. Advanced fracture mechanical testing: CTOD, JIC or similar tests. Classification of defects, damage growth and damage evolution.
